The Playstation Experience

A few months ago a friend entered my apartment to announce that he has decided to perform a very important investment for our future in entertainment. I remained calmly at my sit waiting for him to continue and explain how lucky he was as he managed to find an incredible deal over the internet for the newest version of PlayStation 2. Frankly, I could not believe my ears. I have never played PlayStation in the past and the last video game I have played with my friends when I was still a kid, was an old version of Atari. I could not grasp how someone over twenty-five would pay any amount to become another of those inert players stack in front of their TV screens for hours or even days. But the experience I had when PlayStation 2 entered the premises of my house was not exactly as the one I originally imagined. PlayStation has proven to be an extremely fun and instructive gaming experience. After the first couple of weeks I realized that when someone knows how to keep a balanced life it is possible to spend time exploring this unique gaming experience without the feeling of guilt.

Produced by Sony computer Entertainment, PlayStation 2 is the successor of the original PlayStation console that has been a tremendous worldwide success since its original introduction. By March 2005, the sales margin of PlayStation surpassed the 100.49 million units, becoming the first home console to ever reach the threshold of 100 million sold games. Dated back to 1986, nintendo was the first to attempt to work with disk technology, but after encountering a number of problems nintendo decided to approach Sony in order for the second to come up with a solution. Soon Sony recognizing the emerging video-gaming market planned to initiate production of its own console, leading Nintendo's management team to cancel all deals and form an alliance with Philips; this time securing control over its licenses on the Philips developed machines. By the end of 1992, Sony and nintendo reconciled their major differences and Sony launched the first version of PlayStation in 1994 in Japan. By September 1995, PlayStation was introduced to the USA, European and Asian markets and its initial success was a prelude of its future sales breakthrough challenge.

The extreme popularity of the PlayStation console introduced the term "PlayStation Generation" and titles like Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo, and Silent Hill, have become the favorite pastime games of millions of users worldwide. Having enjoyed over eleven years of continuous videogame production, Sony has announced that the next PlayStation generation, known as PlayStation 3, or ps3, will be launched in November 2006 and will also be a backward compatible device; meaning that it with be able to play all the games that have already been released for the other PlayStation versions.

Although the genius creators of the PlayStation consoles argue that the new version of this popular videogame will advance the user's experience, I doubt that it will actually manage to have the same success in the desired time frame. A vast variety of other videogame competitors, including the powerful nintendo, have launched a number of games for their consoles, which have increased users' expectations and have made them extremely conscious regarding their next videogame choice. But, I am sure that my friend and I will continue playing the PlayStation games of our choice, like nba 2K6 or Grand Theft Auto, as PlayStation 3 will be outside our budget for at least a while.

Tips To Cure A Golf Slice

The slice, in golfing terms, refers to the flight of the ball veering to the right or left, depending on the players' dominant hand.

Ideally, you want to hit the ball straight down the course and not have it fly to the left or right. After all, a straight line is the shortest distance between 2 points, basic geometry.

However, if you are gripping the handle of the club too tight, this will result in an uneven swing and may cause the club face to hit the ball at an 'open angle'. this open angled hit, no matter how minute, will drastically alter the balls trajectory in flight. Thus causing the ball to veer either to your right or your left.

A quick fix for this open clubface hit will be, turning your left hand towards the right and check if you can view the upper portion of your hand from this position. Also ensure that your palms are aligned before you swing.

Once this grip is mastered, it should drastically reduce your slices.

Another possible cure is by making sure that your feet and knees are aligned and touching each other when you swing.

this may feel awkward at first but with enough practice and time on the green, you should be comfortable swinging from this position and with this grip. You should then see a marked improvement in your swing and accuracy, as well as cure your slicing.

Just give these simple tips a try and see what happens. If anything, you will most likely enjoy that additional time on the green, so this is a win-win situation for you!

Is Your Power on Remote Control?

In 1939 the world was introduced to a device that revolutionized the way we live and the way we physically move or don't move. According to the Wikipedia Free Encyclopedia, that year the first wireless remote control was developed by Philco. It was appropriately named the Philco Mystery Control.

The image of this remote control device came into the mind of a visionary who made it become reality, changing the way the world lives forever. This is another example of what one person can do, who's willing to step out and turn their vision into reality.

It's an interesting analogy between the wireless world of remote controls and the wireless world of our thoughts, which create our physical reality. The difference being that a remote control is limited by the frequency that's subscribed to a device, and our thoughts have no limits of any kind unless we believe in limits.

Are you letting outside influences, or the good opinion of others, limit your life? Do you feel like other people are your "clickee", using the remote control for your power to get what they want from you? Are you having a hard time saying "no" to the time stealers in your life?

Maybe you believe you aren't important enough to put your goals and desires first. But you know what? We all came into this world, from the same Source, equally valuable with our own unique gifts to express in our own way. We all have the right to the freedom to express them. In fact, it would seem that the world was created just for that purpose, wouldn't you think?

Many years ago I was forced to choose between a 24 year career with a major telecommunications company or a business I was building with my husband, that I hoped would allow me to quit my job. The powers-that-be in this company believed that my "side" business created a conflict of interest. When I thought about the demands they were putting on my life, I knew in my heart and soul I couldn't give up the idea of freedom.

I choose to say "no" to the corporate prison, the robber of my time and peace of mind. I faced the fear of uncertain income no regular paycheck. I pushed through the times I felt paralyzed by fear by turning to the only source I had to get me through the one inside of me. I learned to let go of that part that told me I couldn't survive without a job, and turn to the part that had all the answers to the questions I didn't yet know to ask. I learned to use the Universal Laws, which operate just as surely as the Law of Gravity. It took time, faith, and trust, but in the end it was all worth the struggle. I now lead a free and peaceful life.

If you're having a hard time saying "no" and giving your self permission to live life on your own terms, there is another way to look at the situation that may help you see it differently.

Love yourself, and the other person, enough to say no. When you're faced with decisions, you have two options. You can choose from a place of fear, or from a place of love. If you choose from fear, you're doing what the other person wants because you're afraid of what they will think or say about you, and how that might affect your life. If you choose from love, you understand that at a soul level we are all connected. At this level how you feel about what you do is more important than what you actually do.

To choose from love means to love yourself enough to honor what you know is right for you, trusting that it's also the right choice for the other party whether they can see that point of view or not.

So how do you know if you're making your choices from love or fear? Your feelings are the clear indicator of where your choice is coming from. If you have a feeling of dread in the pit of your stomach and you're feeling anxious and in an emotional turmoil, you can bet you're moving in the fear direction.

How do you change directions?

Begin by taking the time to go inside yourself and getting clear on what you really want the outcome of this decision to look like. see it, feel it, and live as if it's already a reality.

keep that vision in front of you. When your thoughts take you to fear and worry, STOP and let go of those thoughts. Use your power of choice to be relentless in your vision for the outcome you want, letting go of any fear thoughts that come up.

look for ideas and guidance that begin appearing throughout the day. Act on the guidance you receive, and take one step at a time towards the outcome you want.

What do you do about those who will be less than understanding about your decision? Be lovingly firm, without judgment or criticism, and set the example for them to find their own way to an outcome that's ultimately better for all involved. By following your own vision, you're lighting the way for others to find theirs.

Unlike the remote control, we all have a choice of when we use our power and when we don't. Don't let fear be your guide. It's up to you to be aware of what you value the most, take a stand, hold onto that value, and live the life you came here to live for the good of us all.

Be true to you. If you don't who will?
