Laundry Detergents - The Curse Upon Our Environment And Water Systems

Laundry detergents can best be defined as a cleansing substance, especially a synthetic liquid or powder that dissolves dirt and oil using Surfactants to remove grease from the cloth, Abrasives to rub off the dirt from the fabrics, Ph substances are components that have a high ph factor to stabilize the other harder substances being used, Caustics used to break up dirt particles, Softeners are added to deal with the harshness of other components being used, Oxidizers are essentially used for bleaching.

The vast majority of detergents being used today are of the synthetic type, although our society is becoming more aware of the detriment these agents have on our Environment. It Is important to note that more and more people are choosing to use more environmentally friendly products.

I am not blaming our water problems solely on the detergent as most of our problems with our water today comes from the industrial use of chemicals and their polluting our our soil, from the steel mill, lumber mill, oil refinery, farmers and the various herbicides and pesticides, even the Dry Cleaner you visit once a week is a serious contributor and the list could go on. It is the polluting of our ground, which leaches into our water table that is causing our main woes.

The main point I wish to bring forward is that we have alternative methods to produce and consume our every day products. With the technologies at our disposal, we can as individual consumers make a difference. By this I mean we do not need to subject our environment to as much synthetic chemicals as we do. Our laundry practices are contributing to our ground level water pollution and also the contribution to Carbon Dioxide (CO2) through the heating of the water.

Our society is single handedly destroying the second most important substance on earth. At present the World Health Organization says that there is about One Billion inhabitants on earth without safe drinking water. Yet the majority of us in North America take it for granted. Lets not forget that out Water Treatment Plants are subjecting us to Chlorine everyday. Chlorine is just a bad as the aforementioned chemicals used by our industries as it is also a carcinogen.

Enough with doomsday lecture. There are SOLUTIONS to our involvement in the on-going polluting of the environment.

Until next time: BE GOOD TO YOURSELF AND YOUR ENVIRONMENT.

The Best Golf Warm Up Techniques

Warming up before a game of golf is important especially if you are new to a course and want to play your best. Most people warm up at the driving range or warm-up area provided by the golf course. If you are tempted to skip the warm-up session and begin playing, you not do as well as you want to because muscles need time to stretch irregular use. Since you probably don't golf everyday, you will be using muscles that are seldom used otherwise, so warming up is important for your body and your golf game.

There are many ways that people prepare themselves for a game of golf. They practice their golf swing using irons, woods, and putters, they put themselves in a positive mood by emphasizing what they are good at and ignoring their faults. many times the reason you are not playing up to your potential is because you aren't mentally prepared. Putting yourself in a good mood can help you focus and concentrate on playing a good game.

For any golfer, taking the time to warm up is a way to relax. It is not the time to use clubs you have not used before or try a new stance. When you are taking lessons or hitting golf balls at the driving range, then you can try new techniques. warm up with your best swings so you can use the momentum to play well during the actual game.

While waiting for your turn at the tee, visually see yourself performing well. This will prepare you for any obstacles along the way. You should also determine which way the wind is blowing, what the conditions of the course are like, and how the course is laid out if you have never played it before. This information will help you set up your shot so you can begin the game on a high note.

As you become better at the game of golf, you may want to alter your warm up strategy. This is fine as long as you use the time wisely. If you have a weakness you know you have to conquer, planning your game strategy while warming up can help you focus on overcoming your weakness by replacing it with something positive. Because you know when during the game your weakness will come up, you can plan ahead during the warm up session. Using a different club, using a slice to your advantage, or learning more about the course are all ways to compensate for issues you have on the course. Remember that golf is different from checking apartments with real estate agents in the Costa Blanca. You will have formidable opponents in the game so prepare accordingly.
