The Nintendo Wii is NOT the Game Cube

As nintendo chief Miyamoto says about the Wii

The hardware is basically a GC. Weve upgraded our development tools to new versions but, you can still use GC programs as they are. With that in mind, I thought we could remake GC titles for the Wii and modify them to work with the Wii remote so that theyre more fun to play.

This statement been making its speedy journey around the web, with the predictable result.

i tuld u tha Wee sux0rs! Thus proving the Wii is infact.. a repackaged gamecube Rofl @ Nintendo

The argument need to be split in half to avoid confusion. Lumping the two arguments together ends in a negative situation, where neither of the debating parties can influence the opposition.

Firstly, The Wii is GameCube 1.5?

Miyamoto, in his cute little Wish we had an international auxillary language to stop english speaking l33t gamers from mocking our consumers way, was accurate with his statement. The hardware is similar to the GameCube. WAIT! Dont go running away just yet, for here is a word equation that will float your boat.

The nintendo Wii hardware is similar to the Gamecube, as A gaming PC is similar to a Windows 95 word processing computer.

What! Says you, but my uber el33tzo0r gaming PC has 4 GB of Ram! It has 6.7 Gigahertz of processing power! THINK. Instead of thinking about the technological specifics of hardware capabilities, when the above statement is made, one is referring to the style in which hardware and software are created. The Architecture of the device.

Going out on another tangent, nintendo would not be stupid enough to make the GameCube mistake again. The GC was not a high point for flailing nintendo. Why now, riding on the success of the nintendo DS, an innovative handheld device that has taken the world by storm, would nintendo choose to release an updated version of a failure?

Wii Vs Xbox360 Vs Playstation3

To be blatantly honest, the next-gen console battle will be fought between the Xbox360, and the Playstation3. Unfortunately for Sony and microsoft, they have launched products capable of the same types of activities, with the same types of controls and the same types of games. Its a marketing battle to see who will triumph. But for those looking for new, innovative [ie: Not BluRay] technology with an element of fun and a totally unique experience will choose the Wii. There is nothing else on the market to compete with it.

So who would buy the Wii? just little kids right? nintendo has many different demographics to target. From the very young, to the very old. The DS has opened the eyes of previously video game free generations, and inspired those just entering the market, as well as gameboy fans looking for a quality handheld. Half-core gamers want something fresh. they want to play with their friends and have fun. They dont want to shell out big bucks for a gaming system, but would be happy to pay a much lower price for entertainment.

You can not compare consoles on specifications alone. You must use implementation examples to compare things. On paper, the Playstation 3 is the strongest console. Better than the Wii, better than the Xbox360. But does it have quality games? Will there be many games? Will Sony finally be able to create a game that creates a third of the hype that halo does? Until all consoles have been released internationally, it is futile to argue over which console is superior and which will succeed.

The nintendo Wii is not a game Cube. As the old saying goes, its like comparing apples and oranges. Both are in the same general class, yet there are fundamental differences that make comparing them pointless.

Stress Management Through Yoga

stress, almost all are victim of this drastic term. People from all occupations are facing stress in their life in one way or the other. In this article I would like to summarize the causes and cure for stress through natural therapy called YOGA. But before coming to that point we should have clear understanding of what exactly the stress is. stress is usually a mental pressure exerted due to fatigue or excessive work. It is also caused from worrying about the work or happenings in the past, present or future. Suppose there is a businessmen exporting his products to several countries, his business is doing fine and growing but somehow a situation comes and he finds his business on decline though there might be some cause for this and it could be short lived making his business to bloom once again, but within this short span the person develops stress which may lead to severe mental hazards.

In the modern world we face stress in every sphere and every step of our life, whether we are in schools, colleges, offices etc. Students face stress due to exams, serviceman face stress due to huge pile of pending work etc. As a result people often practice medications like taking sedatives, narcotics and tranquilizers (medicines to cure anxiety) which calm the mind but in future it creates serious other maladies.

But still there is a therapy which is purely natural and is considered to be the best weapon against stress and that is YOGA. Yoga is the ancient mantra for sound health and also to retain juvenility to a great extent. It has been practiced by several Rishi-Munis in ancient india and now has become a major concern among the modern genre too.

So back to stress management, Yoga provides a unique way of managing stress through Prayanama (A breathing technique), in this technique an individual do slow and steady breathing - like inhaling through his one nostril and exhaling through other. Besides there are fast breathing movements like intake of air through nostrils and exhaling through mouth at fast pace, this way air is passed properly through blood capillaries and the person feels himself / herself in light mode i.e. he / she feels that there is no burden over their mind and soul.

Dhyana (Meditation) is also a good method of controlling stress, in this part of Yoga a person sits in a posture (usually in relaxing mode) and concentrate his / her mind over one point with eyes closed. The mind is concentrated upto an extent when an individual feels that he / she has no interaction with the surroundings, infact the mind reaches in a neutral stage thereby relieving mental exhaustion. Hence yoga provides the best cure to this serious ailment which is disrupting the life of millions of people daily. Anyone practicing yoga daily is rarely suspected to stress, as yoga creates the mind and body immune to stress.

Finally yoga has and is proving itself as Stress Management Tool and now a days it is being used in Western world too as a major alternative to the offensive allopathic drugs.

Massage Marketing The Disney Way

Do you know who Ray Kroc is?

I know you know who Walt disney is.

Well, both of those guys are quoted as teaching a very important business building & massage marketing lesson that you need to understand if you're ever going to create a super-successful massage practice.

It's amazing how this one unique way both Ray Kroc and Walt looked at their businesses had such a gigantic impact on their success and profitability.

But it did. And it can for you as well.

(Just in case you don't know, Ray Kroc is the guy who is responsible for the gigantic success of McDonald's.)

Ironically, I believe I experienced this lesson and *unique way* of running a business firsthand last week.

Let me explain...

The very next day after the moving company had dropped our stuff off in florida, we left for a little family vacation to club Med in port St. Lucie.

And, I've got to tell you... the service there from everyone on staff was just incredible.

I'm talking the best customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. And, I've been to some of the best hotels around.

(FYI: excellent customer service is *NOT* the big unique business lesson, so hang tight.)

I could tell immediately that the bigwigs running club Med looked at customer service and care very differently from most vacation destinations.

For me personally, I'd now recommend club Med to anyone. Largely because of the caring staff.

Talk about marketing, right!

I mean, think about it.

I just said I'd recommend club Med largely because of the caring staff. Meanwhile, most people don't plan a vacation based on the quality of the staff at their destination.

But, this one aspect of my experience at club Med was so good, now I'll be talking about it to other people (word of mouth).

You see, I believe the head honchos at club Med understand the same thing Ray Kroc and Walt disney understood...

Massage marketing doesn't just consist of the brochures, flyers, small space ads, and direct mail letters you use to build your practice.

Massage marketing is more than that.

Massage Marketing includes setting up everything properly that your clients and prospective clients could remember your services for.

For Ray Kroc it was the bathrooms at McDonald's.

Mr. Kroc appropriately defined clean bathrooms as marketing.

Walt defined clean streets at disney the same way.

They didn't see clean bathrooms and clean streets as a necessary operational expense.

No.

They both understood the concept of Critical Non- Essentials (CNE) within massage marketing.

CNE are all the things your clients will remember about your massage services that *AREN'T* your massage services.

It's everything that could create positive or negative word of mouth advertising for you, that ISN'T the actual bodywork they receive from you.

It's the...

Practice decor Customer service music Bathrooms Scheduling process Contacts from you Collateral material Staff uniform Etc.

Think about it...

Each and every one of those things could create great or horrible word of mouth buzz for you, regardless of how great your bodywork services actually are.

That's why they're all referred to as critical non- essentials.

They're not essential to practice, but they're critical for your success.

And, when addressed *properly*, you can very easily use your critical non-essentials to differentiate your massage marketing and massage practice from all the others out there, and reap MASSIVE rewards.

The key is doing it properly.
