Sonic the Hedgehog, Long Live The Legend

Sonic the hedgehog truely is a legendary video game icon. He smashed his way onto the gaming scene back in 1991 when SEGA first brought you the super fast, blue blur character.

Known for his rebellious attitude and signature speed, Sonic has made a name for himself in the gaming world and has no plans of fading away anytime soon.

Not only can you find Sonic games on the original SEGA console, you can find Sonic games on next generation consoles including the Wii, ps3, PSP and Xbox 360.

Sonic and the secret Rings was released for the Wii console on February 20, 2007. Sonic brought his trademark speed and rebellious attitude to the Wii in his first solo adventure since he was first introduced, back in 1991. The gameplay is simple, but challenging and sonic soars through the game at top speeds!

Sonic the hedgehog is the title for the xbox 360 and ps3 consoles. This video game was created in order to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Sonic the hedgehog franchise. It was released November 14, 2006 for the xbox 360 and january 30, 2007 for the xbox 360.

Sonic Rivals was released November 24, 2006 for the PSP handheld console. custom built for the Playstation portable, Sonic Rivals is a unique head-to-head racing experience!

While these newer games are all the rage, you can also find great sonic games on other consoles as well, including the ps2, Gamecube, Xbox, Gameboy Advance and nintendo DS. The SEGA mascot brings fun and excitement to all the video games and drags some friends along for the fun. Some friends included are Miles Tails Prower, Amy Rose hedgehog, Shadow the hedgehog, Knuckles Echidna and Cream the Rabbit. And, of course, Sonic's arch enemy, Dr. Eggman, shoves his way into games as well.

Oh, but wait! The fun does'nt stop there. Die hard Sonic the hedgehog fans have created fun and exciting Sonic flash Games for gamers to play online. They are browser based games that are creative, fun and addicting. Yes, you may find yourself playing these games for hours on end! One of my favorite Sonic online Games is ultimate flash Sonic. It's an amazing remake of the classic SEGA Genesis game, Sonic the hedgehog.

Improving Your Short Game, Secrets To Playing Better Golf

How many times have you had an excellent drive followed by an equally excellent approach shot only to be disappointed by your chip/pitch/sand shot and/or 3-putt effort? The short game (putting, chipping, pitching and sand play) accounts for about 80 percent of your total score. These skills are too important to be ignored.

You dont believe us? The next time youre out on the golf course, count the number of shots it takes you to get from the edge of the green to the hole. If youre an average golfer like us, you will be surprised at the number of strokes you use on your short game, and it doesnt necessarily depending on what golf equipment you are using.

If you want to lower your score, your best chance to do so would be to work on your short game. With a little time and effort spent practicing with your wedges and putter, you will improve your game and shave strokes off your score. The great thing is that improving your short game does not require any special strength, coordination, conditioning or special golf clubs. These are skills that everybody who plays can masterand have fun improving! The key is to spend just as much time, if not more time, practicing your short game as you do your long game.

Putting rule: When putting, try not to think too hard. This is when mistakes are usually made. Am I taking the putter too far back? Am I aligned correctly? If you continually ask yourself these questions on the green, you are already thinking of ways to miss the putt. Just look at the hole and go straight at it. Why do you think new golfers and kids sometimes do so well at putting? Is it because they have a special gift for putting? No, of course it isnt. Its because they are not thinking about their approach and are only wanting for the ball to go in the hole. We know that this sounds overly simplistic, but if you do your thinking on the practice green and get your timing and alignment set on a consistent basis, the next time youre on the course it will all become instinctive and you can then concentrate on distance and the undulations on the green and not focus attention on your putting stroke.

Putting practice: Before you tee off on the first hole if you're in a hurry. This exercise will help you make good contact with the ball and create momentum on your putts. Place the ball about three feet away from the hole on a flat part of the green. Without using a backstroke, push the ball into the hole using your putter. In other words, don't use a backstroke during this part of the exercise. Hit the ball immediately from address, do this 5 times and get a good feel for your follow-through. After doing this, use your normal putting stroke and hit the ball another 5 times from the same distance. You should notice a difference in your putting stroke. This simple and quick exercise creates a smoother stroke and follow-through when putting.

Pitch Shot rule: Set your hips, knees and feet open to the target and accelerate through your swing. Yes, there are other things that your could work on when hitting a wedge, but the most common mistakes that amateurs make are standing square to the ball at address and slowing down on the backswing. Correcting these two flaws will enable you to hit more consistent and accurate shots. Keeping your shoulders square and slightly opening up your hips, knees and feet towards the target will allow you to get through the shot and get air under the ball. Your follow through should be as long as, if not longer, than your backswing just to make sure you accelerate through it. This will allow you to make good contact with the ball and you will make consistently straight and accurate shots.

So, what are you waiting for? Get out to the golf course and start shaving strokes off your score!

A Day In A Video Game Virtual World

An 11th grader comes home from school and throws his or her backpack onto the floor and immediately jumps into their favorite chair and prepare themselves to transform themselves. A video game collector comes home from a long day of work as he places his brief case on to the floor and grabs a bite to eat before plopping down into his favorite chair to begin a day within a video game wonderland. The 11th grader is no longer a student; he or she is what ever character they want to be in a game. The same goes for the business man; hes no longer a suit but a character with special powers to conquer their own world. Todays game technology allows players to role play and become what ever character they desire.

Gone are the days when players of video games had to stay seated or in one spot in order to play a video game. The nintendo Wii is the most recent video game available to game-aholics. The new Wii game uses a wireless remote rather than the wired game controller.

Unlike the two players per game session, four players can play Wii during a game sequence. This remote makes games much easier to play, even for first-time and inexperienced gamers.

The Game Survey Says!

When a new game is introduced or is about to be launched into the market, companies choose independent testers who actually play these new games and rate them accordingly. Its sort of like test driving a vehicle before giving the public their opinion. Although they these companies have professional testers of these games, the true testers are the consumers or children of consumers who play these games day in and day out. Their intention is not to test a game but to have fun playing it and becoming a part of a virtual society unlike the one that they are living in. In the game society, the play can control the out come of their destiny.

Video games of the 21st century are programmed so that the players can envision themselves in the games. This is all made possible due to the wireless remote. So if there is a scene, within a video game, that has a man running and climbing into a helicopter, the player can become engaged and apart of the action or lifestyle of a game.

Older game controls were very basic but they did the job for players. However, todays video game controls are equipped with built-in speakers; this gives it a surround sound effect. This controller is not limited to the surround sound feature; there are other features as well.

Premiership Transfer Window Review - Part One

The January transfer window gave premiership clubs the opportunity to add new players or ship out those surplus to requirements. david Walker looks at who came and went and how these moves will impact on each teams success.

Arsenal

The Gunners have invested in the next generation of young talent after a disastrous season. Vassiriki Diaby joined from Auxerre and Togo striker Manuel Adebayor arrived from Monaco but the most talked about transfer was the capture of Southamptons 16 year old Theo Walcott. The transfer fee could rocket to 12 million.

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and Jeremie Aliadiere joined Spartak Moscow and Wolves respectively while david Bentley joined Blackburn permanently.

Such change is vital to both Arsenals immediate and future success. They currently lie in sixth place but a massive 25 points behind leaders Chelsea. The bookmakers arent convinced and offer them at 12/1 in the without Chelsea market to win the premiership.

Aston Villa

After a pre-season transfer investment with very little to show for it, there have been no more funds made available. The Villains, despite spending 11 million on new players in the summer, are only seven points clear of relegation.

Kevin Phillips has scored just three goals, Milan Baros has netted five and defender Wilfred Bouma has been something of a 3.5 million misfit. Poor home and away form could see a bit of value in the 22/1 relegation odds.

Birmingham City

Struggling in the bottom three is never the best position to be in when trying to attract new players but with goals in short supply, two new attacking options arrived in January.

Striker Chris Sutton arrived on a free transfer from celtic after scoring 63 goals in 130 league appearances and Brentfords DJ Campbell, 24, signed for 500,000. Campbell may be an unknown quantity for top flight defences but his two goal salvo which dumped Sunderland out of the FA Cup will send out a warning to premiership managers.

The bookmakers are not convinced Steve Bruces side are relegation fodder just yet, at 4/6 to stay up or 5/4 to go down.

Blackburn Rovers

Rovers may be out of both Cups but are making good progress in the league under manager Mark Hughes. Unbeaten in their last six matches and sitting in eighth position is marked improvement from last seasons flirt with relegation.

Arsenal striker david Bentley made his loan move a permanent transfer and scored a hat-trick in the 4-3 win against Manchester United on February 1. Rovers also boosted their bid for a UEFA Cup place with the loan signing of Liverpool striker Florent Sinama Pongolle and Martin Olsson from Hogaborgs for a nominal fee.

Bolton Wanderers

There wasnt much evidence of the usual wheeling and dealing at the reebok Stadium with only Matt Jansens free transfer arrival from Blackburn. Despite losing five players to african Cup duty, manager Sam Allardyce has kept faith with his current squad.

January has seen more interest in Big Sams future at the club following Sven Goran Erikssons decision to quit as england manager after the World Cup. He is one of the favourites to take over the role and can be backed at 5/1.

Charlton Athletic

After a slump in form which saw the Addicks lose seven out of 10 premiership matches from the end of October to New Years Day results are beginning to improve and they are unbeaten in their last three league matches.

Marcus Bent arrived with a bang following his 2.5 million transfer from Everton by scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Chelsea. Manager Alan Curbishley will hope he can ease the goalscoring burden off 11-goal Darren Bent who can be backed at 20/1 to finish the season as the Premierships top goalscorer.

Chelsea

With a 15 point lead at the top of the Premiership and having spent 53 million on new players this season so far, it is not a big surprise that Chelsea have been quiet in the transfer market.

One new player arrived in the form of Portuguese winger Maniche, making a loan switch from Dynamo Moscow although defender Wayne Bridge has headed out of the Stamford Bridge exit door to join West London rivals Fulham on loan.

The Blues are unbackable now as far as premiership success is concerned with odds of 1/66 the most generous available. Frank Lampard is available at 12/1 to finish as the Premierships top goalscorer.

Part two will look at the transfers impacting Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough and Newcastle United.
